Clustered poppy mallow is a wonderful choice for dry, sandy plantings, as it will produce plentiful eye-catching blooms even in the harshest of drought conditions. This short mallow grows from one or multiple thin, branching stems that are covered in thick white hairs. Its leaves are distinctly triangular, though they can take on heart shapes or more deeply lobed shapes the farther up the stem they are. Its late summer flowers are a bounty of vivid fuschia five-petaled cups sure to delight observers. This hardy and well-behaved species is a great choice for formal gardens such as cottage gardens and garden borders, as well as wild and naturalized plantings.
