Plantain-leaved Pussytoes looks quite similar to its close relative, Field Pussytoes, though its leaves are more rounded. This lovely species shares many of the same benefits as Field Pussytoes, forming an attractive low-growing ground cover mat in poor, dry soils and full sun to part shade conditions. Plantain-leaved Pussytoes is a larval host species for the American painted lady butterfly and it supports conservation biological control, according to the Xerces Society. It is also occasionally browsed by deer and rabbits in the winter.
